What should you expect in your RMT appointment?

1. Patient Assessment: your RMT will perform a comprehensive assessment based on history, observation, palpation, movement, neurology, referred sensation, and special tests as relevant.

2. Formulating a Treatment Plan: designing and implementing a treatment plan that is unique and curated for you!

3. Home Care: as effective as a massage is, your RMT wants to make sure that you have all the tools necessary to maintain the post massage relief you experience.

Your RMT will give you stretches, techniques, strengthening exercises, lifestyle modifications and recommendations.

It is for these reasons that your appointment is so much more than just a massage. It’s a pillar in your journey to a more holistic lifestyle.

Chiara is a graduate of Vancouver College of Massage Therapy 2022. She grew up in Vancouver and spent several years as a dancer, competing internationally in a variety of styles; primarily ballet, jazz and contemporary. The connection of mind and body in this discipline; along with her growing passion for fitness and health is what lead her to pursue massage therapy as a career. She understands and values the role massage plays in the maintenance, recovery and injury prevention of our bodies.

No two patients are the same, which is why Chiara’s treatments are unique and tailored to each individual’s personal health goals. She loves to apply her anatomy and clinical knowledge to her treatments and is very eager to continue to learn more about the body so that she can best help people manage their pain and stress.

Chiara describes her style as intuitive, firm and fluid, incorporating rhythmic movement from her history of dance to ease the body and mind from stress and facilitate full body relaxation. She uses a variety of Swedish Massage, Trigger point, stretching and deep tissue techniques in her treatments to encourage functional movement, decrease muscle tension and promote relaxation of muscles.

Outside of massage, Chiara has a passion for cooking elaborate meals from scratch – especially fresh pasta, going for long runs with her puppy, and spending time with her large Italian family.

Ani Trevillion is a graduate of the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy.

Born and raised in Vancouver, she is an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for hiking, biking, rock climbing, and yoga. Throughout her athletic pursuits, Ani was able to discover what an important role massage plays in both recovery, maintenance, and injury prevention. This therapeutic approach is a keystone in her massage treatments: using Swedish Massage, neuromuscular, and Myofascial techniques to encourage pain-free and functional movement. Her approach to treatment is rhythmic contact that encourages deep relaxation with close attention to areas of tension and restricted movement.

Apart from Swedish relaxation techniques she also frequently employs joint mobilization and neuromuscular techniques like trigger point release.

Anna graduated from the 3000-hour program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy in 2013. Prior to this she graduated in the Spa Technician Program at the West Coast College of Massage Therapy in 2006. She has extensive knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy and physiology and a keen interest in other health modalities, such as Thai massage, reflexology, hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, Indian ayurveda and shiatsu.

She is able to work with people of all ages providing assessment and treatment focusing on postural dysfunctions (hereditary or lifestyle) reducing pain, improving range of motion and quality of life.
